Chapter 132

“You're wrong. | can’t tell you what it is but I'm sorry.” She said and for a moment my mind went to the night of

Jessy’s birthday.

Was Zoe the one who poison Jessy? She spoke again before | could ask that question.

“I know what you're thinking, but no, | didn’t poison Jessy. | could never do something like that. It's hard to

explain, 1-1 just thought you were gone and | don’t know what gavethe courage to do it but now I just feel

like a horrible person. | feel like | betrayed my friend.”

My head was starting to ache from lack of understanding and maybe because of my lack of sleep but | wasn’t

really in the best mood to try and decipher her words.

“Maybe you should go to bed Zoe. You must be tired, I'll clear this up before getting a glass of water and heading

to bed. myself. | said, pulling out of the hug.

“Thank you Freya. You're a very nice person and you have a good heart. It’s one of the things | admire the most

about you.” Zoe said, offeringa small smile before exiting the room.

Once she was gone | sighed heavily and moved towards the shattered glass on the floor to begin picking them

up.

But then | paused in my tracks when | noticed something. | didn’t have the tto think about it because

Greyson appeared in the doorway.

“Freya? What are you doing?” He asked and | looked up at him from my position on the floor.

“Hi! Umm Zoe was having a glass of water when | walked in and | kind of startled her so she dropped the glass

on accident, but | offered to clean it.” | said and Greyson frowned.

“Well you shouldn't be using your bare hands to clean that up you could wound yourself. Con, sit here I'll

clean it myself.” He said, moving towards the supply room to no doubt bring scleaning supplies.

1 did as told and sat on the island, watching him sweep was more fun than | anticipated so | was pretty satisfied

on my position.

“You shouldn't have left the bed like that, | was worried.” He said after sseconds of silence.

“I'm sorry, | couldn't sleep so | just cdown for a glass of water.” | explained and he nodded his head.

“Next time, just wakeup. I'll be able to help.”

| didn’t realize how muchrunning away would affect Greyson but every tthat | wasn’t within his eye

sight, | noticed how he got anxious. Whenever | had to leave the room, or do something else away from him then

the Alpha just always got uncomfortable and it didn’t makevery happy that he thought | was going to run

away again.

| had good reason to do it the first tbut it didn’t mean | was going to do it again. But | understood him. If the

situation had been turned around and | had been the one to be left with no knowledge of where fie was for a

while then | might be overprotective of him.

“Are you saying you missedin bed?” | teased and when the Alpha smiled, it madesmile too.

“Con, let's go to bed.” Greyson held out a hand forand jumped down from the counter and took it.

“Wait. You said Zoe was drinking a glass of water right?” Greyson asked and | nodded my head.

“Why is there no spill of water on the floor?”

That was the question that had crossed my mind when | bent down to pick up the pieces of glass. There was

glass everywhere but not a single drop of water could be found on the floor.
