Chapter 0576
Chapter 0576
Considering how thoroughly Desmond explained if Suzy still didn't believe him, it would suggest there was no
trust left between them at all.
Besides, Dylan's leg had ended up in its current condition because of her. How could she ignore him? And on top
of that, Diana was with him too.
But thinking of Diana made Suzy pause. Something about her had seemed off lately.
Normally, if Suzy moved out, Diana would have followed her without hesitation. This time, however, she had
chosen to stay in a hotel instead.
And it had been three days since Diana last reached out-a very unusual break from her usual behavior.
What had happened to make her act so out of character?
Desmond was still waiting for her response, and after sthought, Suzy finally said, "I'll head over soon."
"That's fantastic!" Desmond's relief and excitement were palpable.

After packing a few things, Suzy was just about to leave when her phone rang again. This time, it was Elliot.
Initially, she ignored the call, but he kept dialing persistently until she had no choice but to pick up. "Elliot Hayes,
you little brat. If I'd known you'd turn out like this, I'd have left you to fend for yourself."
"M-Mentor..."
"What's wrong?" she asked, frowning. His voice sounded uncharacteristically weak.
"I don't know," he said, his tone strained. "I suddenly started feeling terrible-my chest hurts, and | can barely
breathe. It feels like | could die any second. | was scared | wouldn't make it, so | called you... just in case this is
the last t| get to talk to you."
"If you can say all that, you're clearly not dying," Suzy retorted, though she couldn't hide her concern. After a
brief pause, she made up her mind. "Wait for me. I'm coming over right now!"
Dylan's injury was just a leg-delaying her visit by a bit wouldn't make a difference. But Elliot was another matter.
The poison in his body hadn't been completely eliminated yet, and any delay could be dangerous.
Meanwhile, at Dylan's place, Desmond had excitedly told him that Suzy was on her way. Dylan, filled with
anticipation, couldn't contain his excitement.
He had been willing to risk everything just for a chance to see her.

But as the hours dragged on and Suzy didn't show up, his patience wore thin. "Didn't she say she'd be here right
away?" he demanded, glaring at Desmond. Desmond replayed the conversation in his head. | think she said
‘later, not 'right away." I'm sorry, sir, | must have misunderstood. | assumed she meant she'd cimmediately.
I'll call her again to check."
If she didn't show up soon, Dylan was going to have his head.
Desmond quickly redialed Suzy's number, but no one answered.
He kept trying, calling over and over, but there was still no response. Sweat began to bead on his forehead as he
muttered, "Please, Mrs. Wright, pick up. If you don't, my life is on the line here!"
No matter how many times he tried, the result was the same-no answer.
Seeing that she wasn't picking up, Dylan's concern grew. "Could something have happened to her?"

"I don't think so,” Desmond replied, though even he wasn't entirely sure. "If something had gone wrong, the
security team we assigned to protect her would have reported it by now. Maybe she didn't hear the phone while
driving, or perhaps she got held up by something and is on her way as we speak.":
Dylan wasn't convinced. "Check on her. | want to know what's going on! It's been hours. She doesn't live that far.
If she was coming, she'd already be here by now. Something must've happened!"
"Yes, sir!" Desmond agreed, rushing to leave the room.
But before he could step out, Dylan's phone buzzed. It was a message from an anonymous sender.
Opening the attachment, Dylan froze.
It was a photo of Suzy sitting with Elliot, the two of them together.
That explained everything-why she hadn't shown up and why she wasn't
answering her phone. She was with Elliot!
Hadn't she said she wasn't giving anyone a chance?
