Chapter 63 (+23) When Joycelyn arrived, she already knew a bit about the situation. The entire 19th floor was occupied by Isolde alone, with the most prestigious medical team at her service.

Joycelyn, dressed in casual clothes and being a woman, knew Ruby, with her obsessive personality, would probably be hostile towards her.

Before Joycelyn could speak, Ruby sharply demanded, "Have I seen you somewhere before? Take off your mask." Despite wearing a mask, Joycelyn's clothing and appearance didn't seem like someone who would be here at such a high-end private hospital.

But Ruby was keen on scrutinizing her face, particularly Joycelyn's fair skin and naturally refined features. When Joycelyn didn't respond, Ruby gave her bodyguard a look.

The bodyguard immediately stepped toward Joycelyn.

Joycelyn's heart pounded nervously.

"Oh, I pressed the wrong button! I'm here for a flu shot, not for a doctor on this floor. If I take off my mask, I could spread germs, you know," Joycelyn said in a tentative voice, pretending to be shy.

Ruby immediately backed away. "If you're sick, why don't you stay away from people?" Ruby frowned, disgusted. Joycelyn responded innocently, "Well, this is a hospital. Who comes to a hospital without being sick, right?" After saying that, Joycelyn pushed the button for the 9th floor.

Ruby avoided her, her sharp eyes still coldly locked on Joycelyn.

The elevator arrived at its floor, and Joycelyn quickly stepped out.

Thank goodness she hadn't shown her face to Ruby, or things would've been a disaster.

She walked away from the elevator, made sure no one was following her, and then took another elevator down. Ruby had arrived, so she couldn't go up to see Isolde right now.

On the 19th floor, Ruby exited the elevator and quickly approached Isolde's room. Her earlier cold demeanor melted away into a warm smile.

She knocked softly on the door.

"Luna, is that my dear granddaughter-in-law?" Isolde's cheerful voice rang out from inside.

Ruby's smile grew even more radiant when she heard the words "granddaughter-in-law." "Isolde, it's me. I've cto visit you," Ruby said as she stepped into the room.

Isolde's face, which had been filled with warmth, immediately lost sof its gentleness upon seeing Ruby. "Ms. Wilson, what brings you here?" Isolde asked, her voice now more guarded.

Chapter 63 Ruby's sharp intuition immediately sense that something was off. She thought, It seems Folde's granddaughter- in-law' 14 someone else: Tolde, when you mentioned your granddaughter-in-law, did you mean..." Roby asked, her sweet smile faltering as she urgently tried to pry for more information.

"Ms. Wilson, you're intruding now. I don't think you chere with genuine intentions. A place like this isn't fit for you. Fil let you go now," Isolde replied, her tone kind but carrying an air of authority.

Isolde's words were a subtle dismissal, tinged with a sense of wisdom and distance that made Ruby feel the sting of rejection.

"Isolde, has Ellison gotten married? To whom, and when? Ruby asked, unable to let go of her obsession. Isolde's smile faded completely, and her glasses-wearing eyes narrowed. Her presence becimposing. "Ms. Wilson, you and Ellison are from different worlds. It's tfor you to let go of your obsession. That's the best choice for you," Isolde said firmly Ruby's eyes filled with tears as she spoke, her voice faltering. 'I've been in love with Ellison since the moment I met him. I've loved no one else for all these years. And now he's married someone else-how can I bear this? It's so cruel." Isolde's expression remained neutral as she watched Ruby cry, clearly unmoved.

"Look, the brain clinic is on the 9th floor. Go there and get checked. Don't cry in front of me; I hate it when people cry." Isolde said sternly, making it clear that Ruby's theatrics weren't welcome.

Luna, standing nearby, quickly gestured for Ruby and her bodyguards to leave.

This hospital was part of the Grant family's assets, and Ellison protected Isolde fiercely. Outside, there were countless bodyguards.

Ruby was swiftly escorted into the elevator, her dignity in tatters.

Still crying, Ruby glanced at the button for the 9th floor and muttered to herself, "The 9th floor is for neurology? That woman said she was there for the flu shot. She's lying." Ruby pressed the button for the 9th floor, determined to investigate further.

Although Joycelyn had dressed simply, Ruby wasn't going to miss any clue, no matter how small.

However, after a fruitless search, Ruby realized she couldn't dig up any information. This was Ellison's territory, and she was powerless to intervene.

Fuming, Ruby angrily tugged at her hair, her face flushed with frustration as she dialed Carmelo's number. The call was answered immediately. "Carmelo, it seems like Ellison's married. Helpfind out who his wife is. You have to get this information for me," Ruby ordered.

After leaving the elevator, Joycelyn sat by the artificial lake. In her earlier nervousness, she had forgotten to buy a fruit basket or flowers.

Now, she had gone to the flower shop, picked out a fresh bouquet of carnations, bought a fruit basket, and even grabbed ssnacks.

When Ellison found her, she was feeding a stray cat.

Seeing her crouched down, petting the chubby orange kitten, Elliso stopped in his tracks.

& Con Ellison Inder the streetlight, his cold, handsface was expressionless, his gaze sharp. "Joycelyn," Ellison called, his voice tight, as if holding back anger.

The cat and Joycelyn both flinched.

Joycelyn turned slowly, looking like a child who had been caught doing something wrong.

"I... I was just playing with it for a bit. I'll go wash my hands now," Joycelyn said, her expression embarrassed.

Ellison had a strong aversion to germs, so a stray cat, covered in who knows what, would definitely be more than he could tolerate.

"This is a public space, not a playground. Why don't you go up?" Ellison asked coldly, his eyes still locked on the cat as if it were a disease.

"Oh, I just ran into Ms. Wilson in the elevator. She seems to be upstairs. I'm going to wait here for a bit, Joycelyn explained, standing up and brushing her hands off. "Are you scared of her, or are you jealous?" Ellison asked.

Joycelyn bit her lip, a hesitant expression flickering across her fair wanttb) face. "I just want to avoid any unnecessary trouble," she said, her voice calm. After speaking, Joycelyn blinked, then asked curiously, "Why would I be jealous?" Her expression was calm and genuine, with no hint of jealousy at all.

Ellison studied her eyes intently, trying to catch any sign of insincerity, but found none.

"Go up now. She was kicked out by Grandma," Ellison said, his voice still tense, before turning and walking away.

Joycelyn stood there, confused. When she said she wasn't jealous, he seemed disappointed.
