Chapter 259
Chapter 259 1/1
Lily thought she was going to die here today.
Yet, she wouldn't lose her composure, even if she lost the battle. She tumed and headed for the elevator after a
brief panise, acting as if she hadn't seen Xavier. By the elevator stood Timothy and two bodyguards. Timothy
gave her an ugly smile that screamed exasperation. He knew nothing good would cfrom Lily's tone when
she agreed to show up last night.
One was pushing things to the extreme, and the other was provolding things to the limit.
"Mrs. Fulton, Mr. Fulton really does have smatters to discuss with you," Timothy sal
sald.
Since they were already here looking for her, there was nowhere to escape. Lily bit the bullet and could only
return to the main hall. She stood in front of Xavier. His expression was dark and stormy, and hers wasn't any
better.

"So, what is it now? You've lost all interest in the Avelon Designs Competition?" Xavier couldn't stand her
indifferent attitude. He wanted to remind her that he had a say in the competition.
"I'm still interested, but not as much as when we can get divorced," Lily said. She thought she had a poker face
on, but the sarcasm and coldness laced her expression without her realizing it.
It was as she had expected. Xavier wanted to use the competition to threaten her. She wondered if he wanted to
threaten her into dropping the divorce and continue being the smokescreen between him and Sarah.
Xavier had checked the schedule last night, and there were still five days until the end of the one-month cooling-
off period.
Lily remained defiant and stubbom in front of him, as though she was ready to fight him to the bitter end.
"Mr. Fulton, you're always making things more complicated than they need to be. Do you not want a divorce?
What is it? You can't bear to letgo?" Lily saw Xavier was getting angrier, and she worried that the divorce
might be delayed again. Lily resorted to reverse psychology. It had always been an effective tactic for Xavier.
In their two-year marriage, other than not fully understanding Xavier's true nature, she had a clear
understanding of his likes and temper.
Xavier's reaction was just as she had expected. He had an incredulous look on his face as he asked, "Can't you
tell the difference between settling scores and complicating things?"
Xavier couldn't see how he could be pestering her.
"The matter of the competition ends here. From now on, my matters have nothing to do with you. He at the
courthouse next Tuesday." Lily made her point very clear. "Whoever that doesn't show up is a loser, and anyone
who says another word is also a loser." Every word she said hit a nerve in Xavier. He was definitely one who
wouldn't engage in something that would embarrass him or lower his status.
There was a surge of anger boiling in his chest, hot enough to melt Lily any time..
"Whoever doesn't divorce is a loser." He had to have the last word. He brushed the water off his sleeves and
stormed off.
Lily stood still and watched him walk out of the mall and get into his Cullinan, Only after he left did the tension in
her body ease, and she headed for the elevator. Five days was neither too long nor too short.
She knew the divorce was happening, but no matter how she thought about it, she couldn't imagine what it
would be like when they went to get the divorce certified, nor what it would be like after the divorce would be

Lily suppressed the anxiety and unexplainable emotions she felt in the last five days and focused all her energy
on her work "Hello, can you please showssample boards? Lily was lost in thought while loolding at a
materials report when a voice suddenly interrupted her. She immediately stood up and answered, "Of course,"
The customer was a woman in her late 20s. She was dressed in a light gray sweater and jeans, with a down
jacket draped over her arm. She didn't look wealthy, so the others only glanced at her and passed the new client
over to Lily.
"Do you have any specific design requirements for the renovation? How many rooms and halls are there in your
house, and what's your estimated budget?" Lily led the customer to the sample room
"There are
two bedrooms and one living room. | don't have a budget, it's as long as | like it," the customer said while
examining the sample boards. "I'm getting married soon, and | want something cozy for our new home."
Lily made note of everything. She waited till the customer had finished speaking before kindly reminding her,
"we have a wide variety of boards, with many different styles. The cost for a two-bedroom renovation can range
from teus of thousands to millions, so please do provide a price range."
"Don't go below two hundred thousand, and don't exceed five hundred thousand."
