Chapter 986: Uncle Got Naughty Tina nodded. She was running purely on willpower at this point, thinking only of going hand getting a good night's sleep.

Jared wrapped his arm around her and helped her into the car. Turning to Nathan in the driver's seat, he instructed, "Drive." Nathan glanced back toward the building, where Hayden was still inside. "Mr. Farrell, about Hayden-" He had been waiting outside and didn't know what had transpired inside.

Tina, leaning into Jared's embrace with her eyes closed, interjected, "Don't bother waiting for him. He's probably so ecstatic right now that he doesn't even know which way the door swings." Nathan fell silent. Moments like this convinced him that the phrase "fools have their own luck" was tailor-made for Hayden. Without needing the Cohen family to step in, with Tina and Master Tam involved, things were bound to work out in Hayden's favor. When they got back home, Tina quickly took a shower and was just about to collapse into bed when Jared pulled her to the dining table. "Not so fast. Eat something first. I got your favorite- strawberry cake." Tina squinted at him, her refusal ready but unspoken. She let Jared carry her to the table.

By the end, she was so exhausted she let Jared feed her bite by bite, too lazy to lift her own hand.

That night, Tina slept straight through to midnight. When she woke up, she drank a glass of water, responded to swork emails from Cole Lyon, and went right back to bed.

The next morning, feeling refreshed, Tina returned from her morning jog. As soon as she stepped into the entryway, she heard Jared call to her from the kitchen, "Tina, you've got a call." She hummed in acknowledgment, realizing she had left her phone behind when she went out. Checking the missed call, she quickly returned it. "Jennie, what's wrong? Is Zackary feeling unwell?" On the other end, Jennie sounded a little embarrassed. "No, Zackary's fine now. Actually, I was calling to ask if you might have stsoon. I need a favor." "A favor?" Tina hesitated. "Who's the patient?" She knew Jennie wouldn't ask unless it was someone close to her. But Hugo and Zackary's conditions weren't serious enough to require her involvement.

Jennie, sensing Tina hadn't outright refused, beceven more apologetic. "It's my sister's child.

My sister's been living in the countryside and hasn't been in touch for years. She must be desperate to have cto me. She said the hospital has already refused to take the child. I didn't know what else to do but ask you, Tina." Tina didn't hesitate long. "Alright. Letknow when." Jennie was stunned for a moment, then overwhelmed with gratitude. "Anytime, really. Tina, I know how busy you are. Whenever it's convenient for you will be fine." Tina glanced at her schedule. "I'm free today. I'll cby before 2 p. m." Jennie's relief was palpable. "Great, great. No rush. I'll be waiting at hfor you." After hanging up, Tina walked to the kitchen. Jared was by the stove, effortlessly preparing her favorite dishes. He had an apron tied around his waist, one with a floral pattern, and exuded the warmth of a devoted husband.

Tina felt a pang of emotion, stepping forward to wrap her arms around him from behind. "Uncle, have I been neglecting you these past few days? You've been running around, taking care of everything, and still cooking forevery day." Jared didn't pause his actions, standing steady as a rock while she clung to him. "You're only realizing this now?" Tina raised an eyebrow. "Didn't I satisfy you the night before?" Jared let out an amused hum, tilting his head slightly toward her. "Only me?" Tina's face flushed. "Uncle, don't take advantage and play the victim. It's only been three days since we got married, and you're already trying to make up for thirty years of lost time." Jared patted her hand. "Says the one who told Mom I wasn't up to the task." Tina narrowed her eyes, feigning innocence. "There are many ways to interpret what I said. If Mom chose to take it that way, maybe you should reflect on whether your behavior gave her that impression." Jared froze for a moment, then washed his hands, turned around, and lifted her onto the countertop. His gaze burned as he leaned closer. "So, your energy's back?" Tina bit her lip, watching as the man who had just been the picture of domesticity suddenly turned into something much more dangerous. Instinctively, she tried to retreat. "Uncle..." Jared leaned in, kissed her thoroughly, and then, as her eyes grew hazy, murmured in her ear, "Go wash your hands. Breakfast is ready." Tina was speechless. Uncle had gotten naughty.

After a quick rinse, Tina cback out to find Jared standing in the living room, just ending a phone call.

Drying her hair with a towel, she approached him. "What's wrong?" Jared set his phone down and naturally took the towel from her, helping to dry her hair. "I need to go to the station today to report on swork. I won't be able to go with you." Tina nodded. "It's fine. I can handle Jennie's visit on my own." As they left the house, their paths diverged. Before parting, Jared pulled Tina close and kissed her lightly on the lips. "Say hi to Hugo and Jennie for me. And tell Zackary to stay away from Sophia." Tina teased him, "Uncle, you know the more you try to stop it, the more likely it is to happen. Be careful-you might be the one who pushes them together." Jared froze for a moment, her words hitting a nerve. If those two really ended up together years down the line, would he have himself to blame? Seeing his expression, Tina grinned and asked, "Uncle, how can you be so sure Zackary won't be good enough for Sophia when he grows up?" Her brother might not achieve unimaginable heights, but he would never be mediocre. Jared tapped her nose lightly. "You're so biased it's spilling over. Zackary is your brother, but isn't Sophia your sister too?" Tina's smile was radiant. "That's why I wouldn't oppose them being together." Jared was speechless. Tina's logic always caught him off guard.

From the car, Nathan watched Jared linger at the door, clearly reluctant to leave. He averted his gaze. Marriage could truly change a man-there was no arguing with that.

As the seconds ticked by, Nathan idly sent a message to Hayden, who was still recovering. "After all that hopping around yesterday, did you have to get your leg reset today?"

A moment later, Hayden replied with a close-up photo of himself being fed porridge by someone else. His m have grinning face nearly filled the screen, accompanied by the caption: "Porridge tastes sweeter when your fiancée feeds it to you." Nathan was speechless. He should've known better than to reach out. Everyone with a significant other seemed hellbent on flaunting it.

"Should I get a girlfriend too...?" "What was that?" Jared's voice startled him. Nathan almost dropped his phone. "Mr. Farrell, no, nothing! I'll start driving right away."

As the car started, Nathan glanced in the rearview mirror, watching Tina's car pull away in the opposite m direction epoce broke the silence. You're not getting any younger. As long as it doesn't interfere with your work, no one's stopping you from finding a girlfriend.

Holding back isn't good for your health." Nathan groaned inwardly. That wasn't what he meant!

Meanwhile, at a remote rehabilitation center in the suburbs, a room on the third floor basked in sunlight. The large floor-to-ceiling window at the far end framed a dozy reading nook, its seat piled high with books. The pages of the ones closest to the window flipped lazily in the breeze. The sound of a knock cfrom the door. Kevin set down the book in his hands and went to open it. Seeing who it was, his pale face lifted in a faint smile. "You're here."
