Chapter 112

| couldn't think of any reason why Felicia would take up a part-tjob except maybe to numb herself from the

pain of our breakup by keeping busy.

However, | felt a bit embarrassed to think like that.

It made it seem like Felicia was so infatuated with me. She was nice to me, but it wasn't like she was head over

heels.

Yet, she had taken the fall for me, even when she thought | had stolen the money. She must have really liked me.

| scratched my head, feeling troubled.

When | arrived at the restaurant, | sat down casually and scanned the staff for any sign of her. However, I still

hadn't seen her after a while.

Just then, a waitress cover and asked how many people were withand what | wanted to order. |

randomly picked a few dishes, then casually asked, "Do you have a waitress named Felicia here?"

"Felicia?" she asked, looking confused.

After a brief pause, she shook her head. "Never heard of her."

| couldn't help but wonder if she didn't get the job.

| felt a knot form in my stomach. I pulled Felicia's number out of my blocked contacts and dialed it.

Yet, all | got was the voicemail tellingthat her phone was off.

An ominous feeling crept over me, and | began to worry. What Felicia was up to weighed on my mind. She

wouldn't do anything foolish, would she?

The food arrived, but | had no appetite. | tried calling her several times, but her phone was still off.

| took a deep breath. Just as | was about to grab my fork, | suddenly heard shouting from the corner of the

restaurant.

The noise was loud enough to catch everyone's attention.

| glanced over, and in that instant, | froze.

Felicia stood helplessly, facing an angry customer with a tray in her hands.

| immediately got up and walked over.

"What the hell are you doing? | told you to bringwater! Are you deaf or just that stupid? Is this how your

restaurant operates? Get your manager now! You brought the wrong dish and can't even pour water. If it weren't

for my guests, I'd make you regret ever being born! Get out of my sight, you idiot!"

As | walked over, | saw a man with dyed yellow hair and a thick gold chain around his neck pick up a glass of

water from the table and fling it at Felicia.

Felicia stood frozen, letting the water splash onto her. As it hit her, she let out a muffled gasp from the burn.

"Felicia!"

| rushed over, grabbed her wrist, and pulled her behind me. | reached up to touch her face. It was burning hot

from the scalding water.

| quickly wiped her face dry with my hand. Spotting a glass of ice water on the table, | pressed it against her

cheek to cool the burn. If her face was scarred, it could ruin her life forever.

Felicia stared atin shock. "What are you doing here?"

I was fuming. "Why do you think I'm here? | cto find you!"

Her face flushed. "You..."

At that moment, the manager and a few waiters rushed over. Upon seeing the customer, he immediately bowed

and apologized. "I'm terribly sorry, Mr. Fisher. She's new and doesn't know the rules. | apologize for making you

upset."

He then turned and shot a furious glare at Felicia.

"What's wrong with you? You can't even handle something as simple as serving food and pouring water? What

use are you? Get out of here! You're fired!"

Before he could finish, Bob Fisher stood up and slapped the manager across the face.

"Did | say she could leave? She made a mistake and pissedoff, so she owesa proper apology. Do you

think she can just walk away? Not a chance!"
