I bit my lip and stared down at the brown liquid, my cheeks flushing at the memory.

"Because there is,” I murmured, pecking up at her through my lashes. “He was so angry, Nan. I was so scared, and I tried to get away. Things were sald... and lines were crossed." "Okay, but we aren't done with this conversation!" She shouted after me. I waved at her without looking at her and hurried to my next class.

It's been like that for weeks; she would cry over her cousin leaving without a word and Ethan wouldn attempt to comfort her. Though, his ther. mind wasn't truly in it. His mind was with Judy. She's been different these last couple of weeks. Ethan had noticed how she was practically glowing.
Whenever he spotted her, she was either with Gavin, or training with Matthew and Gavin would be sitting m outside, watching them. Ethan noticed the quick looks that Judy would give quick would give Gavin and the small blush that crept along her cheeks. He noticed the smirk on Gavin's lips whenever their eyes locked.
Sometimes Ethan would catch them speaking softly to one another but when they noticed him standing nearby, they would break apart and talk only about business. It left Ethan feeling unsettled as he watched the two of them together.
Later that sevening, Ethan went to get Irene and take her out on a date to get her mind off Walter's betrayal but he froze when he saw Gavin and Judy in the corner just in front of the back doors. It was clear she had just finished with training and was probably leaving. He smiled down at her and Ethan's heart fell into his stomach when he watched Gavin tuck a strand of hair behind Judy's hair.
It was a small gesture, but it was still so intimate.
