Chapter 21 A Reply
Daniela was tittering with excitement as soon as Kaden left. “See? | told you Elliot wasn’t doing it for Corynn! I'm
sure he knows better than anyone that you are the only woman who deserves the title of Mrs. Andrews!”
She looked around the living room, her eyes glimmering with envy as she surveyed the stacks of gifts.
Amanda smiled at her words and instructed the maids to move everything to the fourth floor.
She had two walk-in closets in two separate floors of the house-one for her wardrobe and jewelry, and a special
one she had commissioned specifically to store Elliot's presents.
The first one was on the third floor, and these items she could happily part with for one reason or another. But
the ones housed on the fourth floor were hers and hers alone.
It didn’t matter whether she had opened the gifts or not, or whether she was using them or not, they belonged
to her.
Having noticed the gleam in Daniela’s eye, Amanda led the latter to the third floor and opened the closet to her.
“Go on, take anything you like.”
Daniela didn’t need to be told twice. She grabbed two diamond necklaces and a luxury handbag. “You're so
lucky to have a wonderful man as your fiance!”
Amanda smiled knowingly. Of course. Her greatest happiness lay in the fact that she was going to become
Elliot's wife.

As the thought lingered in her mind, however, her smile waned.
Corynn was still in the picture, and there was no telling how she would affect Amanda’s happy ever after. No
matter what, she couldn’t let Corynn anywhere near Elliot again.
“Daniela, do you think Corynn will finally back off if her family goes bankrupt?”
“Well, if she doesn’t, then all you have to do is target the people around her. And if that still doesn’t work, then
you should just eliminate her for good.”
Amanda was stunned. She had never considered killing Corynn.
Now that she thought about it, though, she wasn’t quite averse to the idea. If anything, she realized that only
a dead Corynn would bring her true peace.
Noticing that Amanda seemed to be lost in thought, Daniella asked, “Do you findtoo harsh? I'm not always
this vicious, you know. | just think that the world is better off without bitches like Corynn. | mean, the nerve of
that woman! What makes her think she could complete with you?”
Amanda patted her shoulder. “It's okay, | understand where you're coming from.”
Daniela breathed a sigh of relief at that.

Two more days passed.
Shirley was heartbroken. She had worked so hard to help Corynn regain her health, yet the latter had lost so
much weight in just the last few days.
“Corynn, dear, when did you last get a good night's sleep?”
Corynn was in the middle of putting her shoes on. She spoke around the piece of bread she had hurriedly stuffed
into her mouth. “Mom, let's talk about it when | get back, okay? | have a lot to deal with at the company today.*
Shirley sighed in defeat. Her stubborn daughter never listened. These days, Corynn left early in the morning and
returned so late at night. Once or twice, Corynn was ended up falling asleep on her desk.

family was at least eating well.
The first thing that Corynn did when she arrived at the office was to check her email.
She had prepared herself for the inevitability that she would have no new messages, but to her surprise,
someone had sent her a reply.
It was from Mr. McCoy, a supplier from another city.
Mr. McCoy explained that everyone he knew in the industry had been threatened not to deal with the Harper
Group, but his own company was already on the verge of bankruptcy.
Much like them, he had invested everything into his business, and he would hate to see all his hard work turn
into nothing. He wanted to fight until the very end.
And so, he had decided to take a chance on the Harper Group.
Corynn understood his plight all too well. She replied and made arrangements to meet with Mr. McCoy, then she
rushed over to her father’s office to inform him of this unexpected development. They didn’t waste any tand
