Chapter 180

In the white hospital room, Eloise was lying in silence, with the doctor appearing helpless. "Miss Michelle, your

daughter is physically fine, but she seems to be subconsciously refusing to wake up, so all we can do is wait."

Veronica was supporting Michelle. Michelle was in a panic. "So there's no other treatment?"

The doctor shook his head. He hesitated for a moment, then added, "The patient has been emotionally unstable

recently; maybe it's not a bad idea to let her rest."

Michelle was somewhat confused, her heart still hanging in the air. Veronica was also worried, but she tried to

reassure Michelle, "It should be fine. Let's just let Eloise sleep for a day or two."

Michelle nodded in agreement, tears in her eyes. She fetched a basin of warm water, silently wiping Eloise's

hands.

Veronica looked at those slender fingers, her eyes reddening. Michelle didn't know yet that Eloise would never be

a pianist again!

Wiping away a tear, Veronica saw Riley approaching with a prescription. He spoke in a low voice, "Why are you

crying? Eloise is just sleeping here. Don't be upset, okay?"

Veronica gave him a look. "I can't help it."

Riley hugged her. He didn't tell her that he had just seen Gunner in the pharmacy. Gunner was accompanying

Ravenna for a prenatal checkup, their sweet couple scene making Riley feel uncomfortable. But it was also a

good thing. If Gunner hadn't left Veronica, he wouldn't have had a chance to be with her.

Riley comforted Michelle with a few words. Michelle knew he was Callum's cousin and felt a little awkward.

Just then, footsteps sounded at the door.

Griffin and Diana were here, their faces not looking good; especially Diana, she was full of worry because Joan

had been detained.

When the elders met, the atmosphere was bound to be tense. Michelle carefully placed Eloise's hand back under

the blanket and spoke coldly, "Mr. Lynch, what are you doing here? Are you not satisfied that your daughter has

not caused enough harm to Eloise?"

Griffin stared at Eloise. The girl was lying there quietly as if sleeping.

Michelle gave a bitter smile, "The doctor said she doesn't want to wake up, Mr. Lynch, are you satisfied now?"

Griffin blurted out. "I'll arrange for a doctor for her."

Veronica couldn't hold back her anger. "Griffin, you should stay away from Eloise. She doesn't need your help!

Recognize your position. Regardless of your global reputation, here you are, the father of a criminal!"

Diana was not pleased with these words. She retorted, "Joan was just upset. She didn't mean for this to happen."

Veronica scoffed, "Are you insane? You have the audacity to say that? Just because she's upset she can publicly

slit her wrist and frEloise? Is she playing games with right and wrong and the law? Diana, letbe clear

with you, Joan is going to lose this lawsuit."

Diana still held onto her pride. She sneered, "Eloise is just bitter about Harvey, isn't she? But think about it, what

has she really lost? Why does she need to play the victim to gain sympathy?"

Griffin shouted, "Diana!"

Diana stopped talking immediately. Griffin then spoke to Michelle in a gentle voice, "Eloise is my biological

daughter and everyone in my family knows it now. My mother really wants to see her. | hope you can convince

Eloise to acceptas her father. Then | will take her abroad for top-notch music training, to beca world-

class musician."

Eloise had inherited Griffin's musical talent. In this aspect, Joan couldn't compete with Eloise.

Michelle hesitated for a moment, not wanting to hinder her child's future. But Veronica was the first to retort,

"Griffin! You really have no shame!"

Griffin frowned.

Just then, Harvey happened to cby. He had heard that Eloise was in the hospital and had cto visit. Upon

seeing Harvey, Diana grabbed his hand as if she had found a lifeline. "Harvey! Look at these women, they have

no manners! Eloise must have grown up in such an environment. She must be the same!" Diana was using every

trick in the book to try and marry Joan to Harvey. Harvey forcefully shook off Diana's hand and turned to look at

Veronica. Veronica was also looking at him, then her gaze swept over the Lynches, and she gave a cold laugh.

"Good! Now that everyone is here!"

Riley tried to stop her. "Enough, Veronica, don't say anymore!"

But Veronica's eyes were full of tears. She pushed Riley away, choking back sobs. "Why can't | speak? Joan is the

princess of the Lynch family, but isn't Eloise also a good girl? Angus and Michelle raised her so well, not for her to

be treated like this in the future!"

She pointed at Griffin and sneered. "Griffin, you just said you wanted to take Eloise abroad to study music, now

lettell you, that's impossible! It will never happen! That night, Eloise not only lost a loved one, but she also

injured her foot. She can't drive, and she can't beca top musician! She's always looked up to you, she has

the sability to use both hands as you, and she inherited your musical talent, but because of your

selfishness, she lost her future!

"Griffin, because of you, Eloise couldn't see Angus for the last time. Do you know how much she regrets it?

Griffin's face turned deathly pale! "What... she can't play the piano anymore..." Griffin was a globally renowned

musician, and what he wanted most was a talented pupil. Joan was not up to that, and couldn't carry on his

legacy. When he found out Eloise was his kid, he was over the moon. He had seen videos of Eloise playing the

piano. He knew she had potential, and she could be great with straining.

Griffin was heartbroken after hearing Veronica's words. Harvey was also stunned, his face tense, quietly

clenching his fist. He remembered the last the saw her. He asked her if she would go to France. Eloise said

she would never go again. It wasn't because she had given up on her dreams, but because she no longer had the

ability to chase them. She couldn't even drive anymore.

Harvey choked out the words, "I wanna see her."

Veronica's eyes welled up with tears. "Harvey, the last person Eloise wants to see is you!"

The last person Eloise wanted to see was Harvey! Harvey never knew that a single sentence could hit him so

hard, causing his heart to ache. It was like a thorn had wedged itself into his heart, he wanted to pull it out but

was helpless.

He didn't force his way into the room. He just peered through the crack of the door

at Eloise, at her laying silently, just like when she used to lay in his arms, not speaking, not making a sound.

Harvey's voice was hoarse. "At least letbring in a specialist for her."

It was rare for a man like him to lower himself in front of others, but he sincerely

said to Veronica, "I just want to make amends!"

Veronica was stubborn. Riley, however, tried to dissuade her, "Stop being

stubborn! The most important thing right now is for Eloise to wake up!"

He was very friendly when talking to Harvey, even laughing as he said, "Harvey, Veronica's just being a bit thick-

headed. | apologize on her behalf. We'll leave Eloise in your hands."

Harvey didn't respond. He just looked at Eloise, hoping she would wake up, hoping to hold her in his arms again.

He wanted to ask her to give him another chance. He wouldn't let her down again!
