Chapter 45 Eloise felt the long skirt was a good fit as well. She sat down and complimented Denise on her taste.

Harvey didn't respond.

Marianna brought breakfast over and apologized, "I didn't know you'd be here, Ms. Laurent! Please make do with what we have today. If there's anything in particular you'd like, letknow. I'll have it ready for you tomorrow morning." Eloise wasn't too keen on the breakfast, but it was Harvey's house, and the maid was hired by him. She wasn't in a position to give orders. Smiling, Eloise said, "This is fine." Marianna breathed a sigh of relief. Eloise seemed easy to get along with. Rubbing her hands, she returned to the kitchen to continue her work.

Harvey began reading the newspaper. He glanced at Eloise, who was sipping her milk with grace. It was clear she cfrom a well-to-do family. Her manners were impeccable, yet not ostentatious.

Harvey thought she looked elegant eating breakfast. He was born into a wealthier family than most, and growing up he was pursued by countless women due to his looks and abilities. Harvey was very picky. While smen might enjoy having naive girls for mental satisfaction, Harvey wasn't one of them. The women who could catch his eyes needed to match him well, and their family background mattered a lot.

He loved Eloise's looks and character. In fact, he was willing to move in with her.

Eloise was unaware of this. After finishing half a glass of milk, she decided to tell him something, "I've given up all my other jobs. Only Blake's classes are left. There's one tomorrow night." Harvey didn't object. He asked, "You love the piano that much? I've heard you play. You're really good. Why didn't you continue your studies?" He knew her family could afford the tuition.

Smiling, Eloise didn't answer. In truth, she had considered further studies. She once received an admission notice from an overseas music college and had even packed her bags. However, Michelle strongly objected. She insisted that Eloise was the child she had painstakingly raised and she couldn't bear letting her go.

Michelle, childless, was possessive of Eloise. After a month of struggle, Eloise decided to stay in Peterborough. Her teacher regretfully said, "Eloise, you're the most talented student I've seen. It's such a pity that you gave up the opportunity to study overseas but to teach at home." Eloise felt there was no need to tell Harvey this. It was her life.

Harvey noticed her expression was off and was about to say something when his phone rang. It was a message from his father: [Harvey, we've found a lead on Griffin's long-lost daughter. When he's back from abroad, you need to help sort this out.] His father also sent a picture of a pink diamond necklace. Harvey felt the necklace looked familiar, but he couldn't quite place it.

At that moment, Denise called. He no longer focused on the matter.

Denise was efficient. She had arranged to bail Angus out and was now waiting for Harvey's signature.

Harvey hung up the phone, and told Eloise, "I have to go to the jail. Wait forat home. You should be able to see your father today." Eloise was grateful. She softly thanked him.

Harvey picked up his coat and stood up elegantly. Eloise changed into her shoes and accompanied him downstairs.

A black luxury van waited downstairs.

Denise stood by the car e car Seeingm Eloise, she nodded politely, "Hello, Ms. Laurent." Eloise nodded back at Denise.

Harvey got into the car. He was strikingly handsand moved with very grace, giving off a very aristocratic vibe.

Eloise suddenly remembered maid, something he once said, "Eloisem between you and me, who's really taking advantage?" At this moment, she couldn't agree more. She watched Harvey's car drive away. Her phone rang when she was about to go upstairs.

It was Max calling.

Eloise thought for a moment and answered the phone, whispering, "Max, I've changed my mind."
