Chapter 285 Since things had already cthis far, Wren had no choice but to keep going. He had been too impulsive earlier, coming to see Clara without fully considering the consequences. In the end, it was still the same.

Wren took a deep breath, pushing down the frustration in his chest. He put his phone away and continued walking forward.

When he reached the hospital lobby, he noticed the light on in the duty room. He walked over and knocked on the window.

It was a quiet night, and the nurse on duty was sitting at the desk, playing on her phone. She quickly looked up when she heard the tapping on the glass.

Wren had practically been living at the hospital these past few days, and with so few staff, everyone had gotten to know him.

Seeing him, the nurse smiled and opened the window, leaning out to ask, "Mr. Zachman, is there something I can do for you?" "I need a little help. Are you free right now?" Wren asked politely.

People in the town usually went to bed early, and it was rare for anyone to cto the hospital this late. The staff were usually free during night shifts.

"I've got time! Cin through that door. I'll open it for you," she said as she stood to let him in.

By the tWren reached the door, she had just opened it.

"Sorry to bother you," he said as he stepped inside.

The heater was on, and the warmth quickly chased away the chill on his body.

Not wanting to waste time, he took out the half-finished scarf Clara had been knitting and asked, "Do you know how to knit something like this? Can you teach me?" The nurse blinked in surprise, giving Wren a curious once-over.

Wren looked exactly like the kind of successful man one would only ever see in movies. She couldn't, for the life of her, imagine someone like him being into something as delicate and girly as knitting a scarf. The contrast was just too stark.

But then, she remembered how attentively he had cared for Clara these past few days. He handled everything himself. Word had it that he even cooked all of Clara's meals. She had seen a few of the dishes herself, and honestly, they looked better than anything served at a five-star hotel.

He really was like the perfect man from a dream.

Earlier tonight, when she went to give Clara her final injection, she noticed the latter was knitting a scarf. This had to be the scarf she hadn't finished.

"You're worried your sister's overworking herself, so you want to help her finish it while she sleeps, right?" the nurse teased with a grin. "From how focused she looked, I'm guessing it's a gift for you?" The colors and patterns were clearly made for a man.

Wren paused for a second, then gave a small shake of his head without offering any real explanation. "If you don't know how, I can ask someone else."

Thinking he was just being shy, the nurse smiled and took the scarf from his hands for a look. "I do know how, but it might be a little tricky for a E! beginner. It's almost done anyway. If you leave it here, I can finish it tonight while I'm on shift and give it back to you in the morning."

Wren appreciated the offer but didn't want to hand the task off to someone else. He smiled and declined politely, "No, thank you. I'd like to finish it myself." The nurse blinked in surprise. "You really are good to your sister. Alright. I'll teach you, then." "Thank you," Wren said with a smile.

He sat down beside the window and quietly watched her demonstrate. He paid close attention, carefully memorizing every step.

Thankfully, Wren picked things up fast. After just two rounds of instruction, he had it down.

"Wow, I didn't expect you to learn so

quickly!" the nurse said, surprised.

"Back in school, I tried teachingè sof the boys in my class had e to show them so many times, and they still couldn't get it, yet you picked it up in no time. And honestly, it looks great!"
